It's that time again: the sales are upon us. Answer the call of the shoes at Net-à-Porter with a few sensible-but-gorgeous picks.
Here are a few of my favorite picks for every season: a sherling boot which some attitude by Choé. A pink sandal with no shortage of colored tassels which mean only one thing: they go with everything. Gold bruges with just the right amount of grommets. A shiny pair of black boots with the perfect ankle detail, subtle enough for any outfit. Comfy knit sneakers that look nice and the lace-up pair of Christy flats from Aquazurra that I've been dreaming about, in cobalt blue. 

Finding a hat that looks nice on me is a struggle! Blame it on an oddly-sized cranium due to sitting too close to the tv every Saturday morning of my youth plus an obsession with texting that has permanently burned my retinas. In a sea of choices, here are a few toppers that have caught my eye. The peach-colored fedora by rag & bone is not only a great way to stand out in the crowd, but also on sale!

I'm not usually a big matching-set kind of girl, but I love the selection at AdoreMe lingerie. It's a company that overs a wide-range of sizes without losing any of the femininity. There's really something for everyone!

Off-the-shoulder slinky dresses give you more room to work with and show off an epic pair of tassel earrings, in the perfect spiced-pumpkin shade.

Vogue keeps preaching the benefits of fuzzy shoes, which gives me even more of a reason to splurge for these Alexander Wang sandals. They'll look great with a pair of sheer tights, which for me equals a year-round shoe. That's what they call a practical purchase.

Happy Wednesday, once again! Ascension Day is celebrating in France with a long weekend in the countryside: Parisian au pairs (the lucky ones, at least) are off on vacation tomorrow. I'll be off to Arromanches, in Normandy, fighting the cold and wind, a small price to pay to enjoy a few tranquil days spent by the sea. 

As usual, Parisian weather is cold and gray--we're only now ditching the sweaters in favor of tee shirts and bare arms. The immaculate parks are filling up with children ready to enjoy the warmer weather, and I find myself surrounded by hoards of the same weekend outfits: polos + sneakers + jeans + assorted adorable accessories. 

My favorite five-year-old wears glasses (when he can keep track of them) in an adorable bright blue-green combo. These round glasses seem to be all the rage in Paris right now, in fact I think that they seem to be the only acceptable style for kids! The Lacoste store by our house has got new window displays featuring flag-icons and patterns, just in time for the Summer Olympics. I love this French-version: a subtle tricolore crocodile makes the classic French polo even cuter. 

Lest we not forgot the Bensimon sneakers, they French equivalent of Converse Chuck Taylors. Simple, understated and indestructible, every French child seems to have a pair or twelve of these in their closet. A pair of brightly colored ecouters help drown out the sound of city traffic.
